Week One

Here goes nothing… my first blog post ever!
The first week of class is behind us and it’s been a long one. Before this class I hadn’t given rhetoric much thought, but after the first day of class I began to start seeing it in many places. I recent news report used the phrase “harsh rhetoric” to describe a certain individual of powers speech. In this class I hope to improve my writing and increase my understanding or rhetoric.
I have begun reading the Phaedras and am on Socrates second speech. I think I will have to read it over again before Wednesday, because not much of it is sticking in my mind other than the fact that old men in Greece really seemed to like having young boyfriends….
